If you are interested in Blind and Low Vision Services funding and
programs for the next couple of years, you may want to attend in person
or online this
week’s presentation and hearing of the Joint Appropriations Subcommittee
of Health and Human Services. The presentation begins at 9:00 AM
Thursday, February
5. The hearing begins around 10:30. Both will be held in Capitol room
102, and both will be broadcast on the Legislatures website.
I thought it might be helpful to have blind-friendly directions on how
to listen online as well as how to provide input to the Subcommittee
members. Directions
are below. Try listening to something ahead of time to make sure
everything works.
To show the table of legislative broadcasts, click on this link:
http://montanalegislature.granicus.com/ViewPublisher.php?view_id=89
This webpage shows a table of floor sessions and committee meetings, and
it changes as new information becomes available. To listen or view
online, find
the committee meeting you want, then move to the next table cell, which
is the date. If a date shows, the broadcast will occur then. If it
says, “live,”
press either a spacebar or an enter key, and a new page loads. The
broadcast should begin when the page loads, and the page contains lots
of information
about the agenda and other committee information.
In the event the link above does not work, go to the Montana
Legislature’s homepage, which can be found with Google or another search
engine. Click on
the link called “Watch and Listen.” Choose live and upcoming, which
will display the table referenced above.
And here are the Subcommittee members and ways to contact them:
