[Nfbmt] hearing about the NFB

Sheila,
I first heard of the NFB when I lost my sight in 1979 and was
introduced to the MAB, the Montana affiliate. When I attended my first
convention in 1983 was when I really got introduced and have been quite
active since then. The NFB is one of the most positive organizations I have
found. Because of them and my parents training, I am employed and active
with my church, community and neighbors, not afraid to try most anything and
enjoy living (the life I want).
I try to be patient with the public, but sometimes I have a "mean
spirit" and "lovingly" put them in their place. Often getting in trouble
because of it.

Hi I'm interested in knowing how and when you first heard about the nfb.
What were your impressions and if negative what changed your atitude to a
positive one. I first heard about the nfb in 1975 from Susan Ford while
attending s.o.p. I've known about the nfb fro forty years now.
