Hello, NFB of Montana members.
It is time to be thinking about the upcoming elections.
This year the following affiliate positions are
up for election for two year terms:
President
First Vice President
Second Vice President
Secretary
Treasurer
Board Position 1
Board Position 2
These offices are currently being held by the following NFB of Montana
members:
President: Joy Breslauer
First Vice President: Sheila Leigland
Second Vice President: Donna Harris
Secretary: Jim Marks
Treasurer: Ted Robbins
Board Position 1: Jim Aldrich
Board Position 2: Jeff Haworth
Board positions 3 and 4 are currently being held by Stacie Huff and Linda
Hurlock, who were elected last year for two year terms. The positions listed
above are eligible for election for two year terms in even numbered years;
the other two board positions are eligible for election for two year terms in
odd numbered years.
The nominating committee which I have appointed is Jeff Haworth, Rik James,
Harold Leigland, and Linda Hurlock. This is the only committee that I as
affiliate President cannot be on. The committee will appoint a chairperson
from among their midst, and meet at 8:00 P.M. Friday evening at the
convention behind closed doors. This is the only closed door meeting we
have, and as such is not open to the regular membership, not even me. The
committee will recommend a slate of nominees to the convention floor. We
will also take nominations from the floor. Before nominating someone for a
position, please make sure that they have been contacted beforehand, and that
they are willing to accept the position if elected. This is very, very
important.
According to our affiliate Constitution, in order to be eligible for
nomination or election to an office, members must be current in their dues,
and the President and Vice Presidents must be blind.
If you would like to be nominated for a position, please let a member of the
nominating committee know.
Thank you.

Live the life you want
The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.
