> Hi, fellow Montana Federationists.
> The following state affiliate officers and state board members were elected
> in 2016 for two year terms. They will be up for re-election at the
> convention in 2018.
> Joy Breslauer, President
> Sheila Leigland, First vice President
> Donna Harris, Second Vice President
> Rik James, Secretary
> Ted Robbins, Treasurer
> Jeff Haworth, board member at large
> Jim Aldrich, board member at large
> The following two board member positions are up for election for two year
> terms at the 2017 convention in Bozeman. If elected, they will serve till
> convention, 2019.
> Linda Hurlock, board member at large
> Stacie Huff, board member at large
> If either one of the board members up for election in 2017 do not wish to
> have their names submitted for nomination to the Board for the next two year
> term, please let the nominating committee know at the convention. The
> nominating committee consists of the three chapter Presidents, Rik James,
> Sheila Leigland, and Jeff Haworth. They will have a closed meeting at which
> they will choose a chairperson and vote to submit for nomination
> consideration the names of the current board members up for election, unless
> one or both of those board members have let the committee know they don't
> want to run again, in which case the committee will have no recommendation
> for that board position. During the election, the President will ask for any
> other nominations from the floor. If you wish to be nominated for a board
> position, let someone know so they can place your name in nomination. The
> President can't nominate you, and neither can anyone from the nominating
> committee. If you wish to nominate someone for a board position, please
> check with them first to see if they will accept your nomination from the
> floor. Once your name has been nominated, we will ask for a short speech
> about why you think you should be elected, and then we will take a vote,
> until the person with the most votes is elected.
> The only thing I ask is that the nominating committee members remember that
> what goes on at their meeting behind closed doors is kept strictly
> confidential, and may not be discussed with anyone at any time for any reason
> before the vote on the floor is taken before the assembled convention.
> Clear as mud?

> Live the life you want
> The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
> characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
> expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
> between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
> blindness is not what holds you back.
