[NFBMT] Chromebook

I had serious issues accessing the G Suite from my Windows 10 PC with Jaws.
There are so many key conflicts, I don't think one could say G Suite is
accessible with Jaws. Another screen reader may do better. NVDA improves
all the time, and the Windows 10 spring update has made huge leaps forward
with Narrator and other features. For one thing, Narrator now works in safe
mode, and that's huge in my book. Voices are much snappier now, too. And
for anywhere in Windows 10 and not merely Narrator, They've added a
keystroke to dictate in any edit field. I used it to write part of this
e-mail. The keystroke is Windows+h. Only works with the spring update,
though.

The days of having a single solution to dynamic technologies are gone, I'm
afraid.

I know it's sick and wrong, but I actually enjoy learning and testing new
technologies. I've been playing around with a Galaxy tablet with an
external keyboard, but it sure is not for the faint of heart. I'm hoping
the Chromebook will be better. Price sure is right.

Best!

And like the Google suite, the Chrome Book is almost accessible these days!
(grin)

Actually, it sounds fun to dedicate some time to learning a new system. The
specialized world of tech tools is pretty disappointing and discouraging. It
was one thing back in the day just to be able to export a file from your
Braille & Speak to use in Word Perfect or Word, but today it's necessary to
be able to do everything in the cloud, because that's where everything is.
And for the most part all the specialized blindness choices fail in ways
that make it impossible for me to justify $3000 to $6000.

Have fun!
