Happy White Cane Awareness Day to everyone!  The long white cane is a tool of liberation, and it symbolizes the fundamental human right of blind people to make our way in the world.  White Cane Awareness Day also happens to fall on my birthday.  I figure someone out there has a terrific sense of humor, and I always do my best to live the life I want.
