FYI, here are more details on HJ3, the bill that will be heard before the House State Administration Committee tomorrow. This notice comes from the Independent Living network, and its links may be more usable than the ones I sent NFB-MT Talk earlier today. Please take the time to let the Committee know your thoughts. Thanks!

The committee wanted to have a further discussion about fully facilitating voting accessibility for voters with disabilities in not just federal elections, but in local elections as well. The purpose of the study is to identify obstacles to accessibility and work toward solutions to ensure that all elections are accessible.

Please contact members of the House State Administration Committee to ask for their support of HJ 3 by clicking the link below and be sure to tell them how much accessibility in the voting process means to you.

These funds could be used as matching funds for public or private money for the development of low-income and moderate-income housing, bridge financing necessary to make a low-income housing development or a moderate-income housing development financially feasible, to acquire existing housing for the purpose of preservation of or conversion to low-income or moderate-income housing, and other purposes identified in Montana Code Annotated 90-6-134.

Affordable housing is important for many people with disabilities who live on fixed incomes and HB 16 would help to increase the availability of such housing.

Please contact members of the House Taxation Committee to ask for their support of HB 16 by clicking the link below.
