     I certainly agree that braille readers are left out. I do wonder how
well special ed teachers will be trained on the Prodigi machine. The Prodigi
Connect 12 is an Android tablet based device. Text is scanned, converted
with OCR software and then displayed using a large font. This makes for a
very sharp display. The reader does not get the effects of pure analog
magnification which can make text look fuzzy. Because the text is converted
to computer readable form, it can be stored on DropBox or Google OneDrive.
Speech can also be used to read the text aloud. Perhaps a braille reader
could have an aide use a Prodigi device to create a file which could be used
to creat braille. I have no idea how well this might work.
