[NFBMT] Montana Legislative Update

LC2764, Establish penalties for negligent injury or death of service animal,
has been through the legal review, has been edited, proofed, and has been
reviewed by the final drafter and the executive director, and is now ready
for delivery.

HB588, Prohibit subminimum wages for workers with disabilities, was withdrawn
by the sponsor.  The hearing before the Business and Labor committee was
cancelled.

 

SB291, Revise laws on voting systems and ballot form, passed its third
reading in the Senate State Administration Committee by a vote of 49 to 1,
and was transmitted to the House State Administration Committee, where it had
its first reading on February 28.  It was not tabled.

 

HJ3, Interim study resolution on accessibility for disabled electors, was
filed with the Secretary of State and became law on February 27, 2019.

 

HB95, Generally revise laws relating to protection of vulnerable adults, was
tabled in the Judiciary Committee on February 15.

 

HB468, Involve certain state agencies in disability integrated employment
programs, was tabled in the House Business and Labor Committee on February
25.
