Mission:

Montana Vocational Rehabilitation and Blind Services promotes opportunities
for Montanans with disabilities to have rewarding careers and achieve
maximum personal potential

Montana Vocational Rehabilitation and Blind Services has always recognized
the importance of partnering with high schools and community programs to
provide services to high school students with disabilities. With the passage
of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, there was a renewed
emphasis on serving high school students. The Pre-Employment Transition
Services (Pre-ETS) Bureau was created to respond to new federal requirements
and provide comprehensive Pre-ETS to Montana students with disabilities.
Pre-ETS provides the following services:

. job exploration counseling
. work-based learning experiences
. counseling on post-secondary programs
. workplace readiness training, and
. instruction in self advocacy

Last year, Pre-Employment Transition Services were provided to more than
1400 Montana high school students with disabilities!

Pre-ETS Specialists provide direct support to the students and their
families and also coordinate with high schools, universities, community
rehabilitation programs, and centers for independent living to provide high
quality services statewide. The team has provided several presentations at
conferences, agencies, and schools. Recently, the team collaborated with the
Blind and Low Vision Services bureau and were presenters at the Montana
Deaf-Blind Project and the National Center for Disability Education and
Training at the University of Oklahoma.

The Pre-ETS Bureau is excited to have the opportunity to guide students with
disabilities to dream big and prepare for life, work and independence.

Fun Fact: I went to school in Germany for Kindergarten - second grade and
could speak German as well as I did in English. Of course, I have lost that

attended grades 1-8 in the same one room country school my grandma attended
in Knowlton, Montana

Lucy Beltz, Pre-ETS Specialist - Kalispell Region

Fun Fact: I traveled around the world, after serving three years in Peace
Corps Vanuatu, to find a home in Montana.

Fun Fact: I enjoy coaching my daughters' softball teams, cheering on both at
gymnastics and other sports events, playing slow pitch softball, floating,
camping, fishing, and hunting. I recently picked up photography and have
