[NFBMT] voting

We are working on an electronic ballot return system so you can email it
electronically to your election office after you fill it out with your
computer.  It's in process.

We have tried to let poll workers know that other people can use the
machines as well, so we are not the only ones and therefore won't stand out
as much.

The ballots in the ExpressVote machines are not the same size as the other
ballots.  That is why we would like other people to use it.  Younger voters
should find it right up their alley.

Travis & I voted in person using the Express Vote machine.  It is not
totally accessible.  When you insert your ballot you have to enter in your
district number & the machine won't talk to tell you to do this so a sighted
person has to do it for you.  Your ballot gets marked with a big E to say
this is an electronic ballot & the ballot is bigger than the standard
ballot.  This automatically tells everyone you are disabled.  I thought the
NFB got the election people to make the ballot the same as everyone else.
Aren't they designing all the machines accessible so both a sighted or blind
person can use the same machine?  It seems like Montana is so far behind
every other state when it comes to accessibility.  I'm glad we have a
talking machine but it should be totally accessible & not stand out from
everyone else.  How was everyone's experience?  I wish we could vote online
in our own homes.
