Subject: Public Participation Open House Meetings Regarding the FINAL DRAFT of the 2019 Greater Miami Valley Region Transportation Coordination Plan and the DRAFT Program of Projects funded with FTA Section 5310

Dayton, OH – The Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission (MVRPC) will host Public Participation Open House Meetings to review the FINAL DRAFT of the 2019 Greater Miami Valley Region Transportation Coordination Plan and the DRAFT Program of Projects funded with FTA Section 5310.

Both the 2019 Greater Miami Valley Region Transportation Coordination Plan and the proposed Program of Projects address the challenges of coordinating and strengthening transportation services for seniors, individuals with disabilities and other non-drivers.

The 2019 Greater Miami Valley Region Transportation Coordination Plan is a component of the Greater Region Mobility Initiative. The plan serves the nine-county area of Champaign, Clark, Darke, Greene, Logan, Miami, Montgomery, Preble, and Shelby counties.

The proposed Program of Projects being considered for Federal Transit Administration (FTA) funding through the Enhanced Mobility for Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Program (Section 5310) will also be available for review and comment. Section 5310 are funds made available to transit agencies, governmental authorities, private providers of public transportation, and duly-formed private, not-for-profit organizations to assist in the provision of transportation for seniors and individuals with disabilities in Greene, Miami, Montgomery and northern Warren Counties. Capital projects proposed include accessible vehicles, communication equipment, and infrastructure, such as sidewalk and bus stop improvements, when those improvements can be shown to result in greater access for people with disabilities to regularly scheduled transit service. Mobility Management functions and certain operational projects are also eligible.
