I am only jumping in this loop to say a thing or two. First
this is something that should be talked about off list. The
state as you know has a form that is sent out after the
board of directors determine the budget for assistance no
matter who puts in a request. Money seems to be a topic that
could do more harm than it is worth think of the amount that
we are speaking about. We must remember that others can read
things on this list and they do not have the information
that you would have as officers of the chapter. I say that
to say that following this email thread several things are
not true and this is not the place to discuss some of it.
When we consider assisting people to attend the conventions
it is not based on income nor is it about how many times
they have received help. We know that people have personal
budgets, so the consideration is based on other things. For
example I may think a rich member should be denied because I
think they are rich, but I have no way of checking his or
her bank account. What most of the presidents in the state’s
will do is look at it as training for the affiliate or
chapter like a business would. I understand all of this, but
we can find topics that would be better served on the list.
You can feel free to call me and I would be glad to tell
you why I am saying this.
