GIVE to LINCOLN DAY

May 26, 2022

Give to Lincoln Day is a giving day event that encourages you to contribute
to Lincoln and Lancaster County nonprofit organizations between May 1st and
May 26th. These organizations are critical to the care, support, and spirit
of our great city. A record total of 479 local charities have registered
for this year's event! The National Federation of the Blind of Nebraska
Lincoln Chapter has been blessed to be a part of this event since its
inception in 2012!

Give to Lincoln Day is coordinated by

 <https://www.lcf.org/> Lincoln Community Foundation

in partnership with local nonprofit organizations.

Every donation makes a bigger impact on Give to Lincoln Day because
nonprofits also get a proportional share of a $500,000 match fund made
possible by Lincoln Community Foundation (LCF) and generous sponsors.

The purpose of Give to Lincoln Day is to promote philanthropy in Lincoln and
Lancaster County. There are three primary goals:

* Introduce new donors to local nonprofit organizations.

* Help Lincoln nonprofits tell their stories and educate
Lincoln about the positive impact they have on our lives.

* Shine a community spotlight on this day of charitable
giving to raise a substantial amount of money to assist the local nonprofit
network.

This year the National Federation of the Blind of Nebraska Lincoln Chapter
will focus our efforts on providing greater access to transportation for
blind and low vision individuals in our community by increasing the
availability of transportation related information, awareness of
transportation resources, advocacy for the improvement of public
transportation, including more accessible bus stops, and assistance to help
cover the cost of transportation where appropriate.

In addition, the Lincoln Chapter will be advocating for, and where possible
creating, accessible sources of information for the community, to help
assure that blind persons will be able to fully participate in education,
employment, and entertainment.

Your past donations are deeply appreciated, and your contributions this year
will assist us in providing the blind residents of Lincoln a greater
opportunity to Live the Lives They Want!
