Good evening fellow Federationists,
>>
>> Kimberly Scherbarth contacted me about plans for a Walk for Independence to be held on October 5. She is proposing two options, one in which we have an affiliate wide walk in Kearney and another in which each chapter hosts its own walk on the same day. Option one has the advantage of giving everybody an opportunity to see the site of next years state convention and the opportunity to spend time with our fellow affiliate members from across the state. Of course, the disadvantage is transportation logistics involved in meeting centrally in Kearney. Below is a large portion of the email Kimberly sent to me. Please note that she is wanting to hear from our members by Friday so she can incorporate our feedback into their decision making and hit the ground running this weekend. I have CCed Kimberly on this email so she can get real time feedback as you respond with your thoughts. Thank you.

>> During our meeting, we discussed two possible formats for the event to be held on October 5, 2025:
>>
>> 1. Single-location event – holding the walk in Kearney on October 5, the same city where our state convention will be held this spring, with participants from across the state joining together.
>> 2. Multiple local events – each chapter hosting their own walk while coordinating on fundraising, with statewide recognition for the top fundraiser.
>>
>> Could you please reach out to the Lincoln Chapter members to see which option they would prefer? Specifically:
>> - Would they be willing to travel to Kearney for the statewide event?
>> - Or would they prefer to host a local route in the Lincoln area?
>>
>> We’re hoping to have feedback by the end of this week, so we can share basic event and fundraising details by the weekend.
