Dear Federation Family:

Since the 2022 Washington Seminar, the Medical Device Nonvisual Accessibility Act (H.R. 4853) has seen an incredible wave of new supporters in the House. We want to keep that momentum going and try to ensure that the bill remains bipartisan and gains even more traction on the Energy and Commerce Committee at the same time. In that effort we want to focus our time and energy on the following Representatives (organized alphabetically by state):

Gary Palmer (AL-06)
Debbie Lesko (AZ-08)
Gus Bilirakis (FL-12)
Neal Dunn (FL-02)
Buddy Carter (GA-01)
Adam Kinzinger (IL-16)
Larry Bucshon (IN-08)
Greg Pence (IN-06)
Brett Guthrie (KY-02)

If any of the above members are your representative, or even if they represent another district in your state, we need you to call or email them and ask them to cosponsor the Medical Device Nonvisual Accessibility Act (H.R. 4853). Additionally, included below is a list of all current cosponsors for the bill. If your representative is not a cosponsor, please contact them and ask them to cosponsor. When you call or email you might say something like:

"Hello, my name is [YOUR NAME], and I am a constituent of [REPRESENTATIVE NAME]. I live in [CITY, STATE]. I would like to urge [REPRESENTATIVE NAME] to cosponsor the Medical Device Nonvisual Accessibility Act, H.R. 4853. This legislation would ensure that blind Americans can have the same opportunity to independently monitor their various medical needs and care for themselves as other nondisabled Americans, thereby making us more self-sufficient and less reliant on others for our medical care.
Thanks."

You can contact your member of Congress by calling the Capitol Switchboard and asking for the office in question. The number is 202-224-3121. We have also attached a contact list for House offices to this email. If you contact your representative via email, please copy Justin Young at jyoung at nfb.org<mailto:jyoung at nfb.org>.
