Dear Students, Parents, Teachers and Counselors!
The deadline to apply for the 2025 National Federation of the Blind of Nebraska (NFBN) Annual Scholarship Program is quickly approaching—don’t miss your chance to apply by January 21, 2025!
Are you a legally blind college student in Nebraska, or do you know someone who is? This program provides an amazing opportunity for financial support, leadership growth, and connection with Nebraska’s blind community.
Who Can Apply?
If you are legally blind, a Nebraska resident, and a student—from a high school senior entering college in the fall of 2025 to a graduate student working on your PhD—we want to hear from you!
Our scholarships are merit-based, recognizing academic achievement, leadership, and community involvement.
What’s at Stake?
* First Place Scholarship: $1,500 from the NFBN.
* Two Additional Scholarships: Sponsored by the Omaha Chapter, Lincoln Chapter, and the Nebraska Association of Blind Students.
* State Convention Experience: Finalists will attend the 2025 NFBN State Convention in Omaha, March 27-30, fully paid for by the NFBN.
This convention is an invaluable opportunity to network, learn from successful blind leaders, and grow within Nebraska’s vibrant blind community.
Hear from Our 2024 Scholarship Winner:
“Receiving the 2024 NFBN scholarship provided me with a fantastic experience at the state convention. There, I met a number of incredible people and became involved in reforming the Nebraska Association of Blind Students, becoming its first vice president.”
