I'm Don Wardlow, the world's first blind baseball radio broadcaster (1991-2002.)
I am in the process of writing a memoir about those years and my early life lived in Metuchen.
I now live in Hamilton Square, where my family brought me following a serious injury suffered in South Carolina where I lived from 2000-2015.
Now mostly recovered I'm looking for a job and a place to live.

Subject: [NFBNJ] The List
I am glad to have our list on nfbnet.org.
As part of the purpose for the list we say, "This list will be used to distribute our semi-annual newsletter, The Sounding Board, information on our state convention and BELL (Braille Enrichment through Literacy and Learning) Academy, and any additional mailings to our members.”
I hope we will also carefully and respectfully use it as a means of having educational and productive discussions about activities, information, and events related to the Federation and blindness in general.
We can also use it as a way to get to know each other a little better. I say that cautiously, because we don’t want to flood the list with chat that is better left between two or just a few people.
By way of introduction, my name is Eric Duffy. I moved to Newark in May to begin working at the Commission for the Blind and Visually Im paired.
My son Lucas who is 17 and a senior in high school joined me in June after finishing his junior year of high school in Columbus Ohio.
I am working as a Technological Support Specialist for the Commission, and I truly enjoy the job and appreciate the opportunity I have been given.
I want to publicly thank those who welcomed me to the state and the Federation family here both before and since I arrived.
My deepest appreciation goes to Dan Frye and Renee West who have made Lucas and me a part of their family.
Joe, Ruffalo and Nicky Gacos were part of the welcoming team before I arrived, and I appreciate there continued friendship. Rebecca Irving and Rick Fox have welcomed me to the Northern Chapter.
I look forward to the continued development of these friendships and to getting to know all of you in the months and years ahead.
Eric Duffy
