Subject: NJ State Department of Human Services Budget Listening Sessions

Dear Stakeholder,

The Department is resuming its tradition of hosting a public Budget  Listening Session to accept input on the upcoming fiscal year budget from stakeholders and consumers. We welcome constructive ideas and suggestions that complement our shared mission of service to an estimated one in four New Jersey residents.

 

Please note that due to space and time constraints, individuals interested in attending should bring, email or mail their testimony so that we can effectively categorize the comments and consider/relay them accurately as the proposed budget is being developed. 

 

Verbal testimony will be limited strictly to 3 minutes per person and only one representative per agency or group will be called. The room capacity is 90, so testimony will be first come, first heard and people who finish their remarks will be asked to be courteous to others who may be waiting by not holding seats. 

 

As in previous years, this is a listening session, there will be no Q&A. I will be joined by Deputy Commissioners Valerie Harr and Dawn Apgar, as well as Chief Operations and Finance Officer  Christopher Bailey. 

 

Please share the attached flyer with any appropriate staff, stakeholders or communities so that we are ensured broad and diverse participation.

This is an opportunity for stakeholders and the public to

provide constructive suggestions/input regarding

the FY 2017 state budget as it relates to their area of interest.

Room Capacity is 99; First come, first heard.

Testimony will be limited to 3 minutes per person.

Due to time constraints, only 1 representative

of an agency or group will be allowed to testify.

All written comments will be accepted and considered.
