Subject: NFBNJ call to action: Marrakesh Treaty Implementation Act (S2559)
Joe,

Please forward the below message to the NFBNJ distribution list. Thanks.

Greetings, my fellow New Jersey Federationists,

Ratification of the Marrakesh Treaty, which will allow blind persons around
the world to obtain books and other print materials in accesible formats
much more easily, is rapidly gaining steam in the US Senate. There is also
legislation known as the Marrakesh Treaty Implementation Act, that must pass
both houses of Congress to put US law in compliance with the treaty, and the
Senate version is currently being considered. The bill number is S2559, and
is under review by the Judiciary and Foreign Relations Committees.

New Jersey Senator Corey Booker is on both committees, but has not signed
onto S2559. We need you to call his office at (202) 224-3224 and urge him to
do so. NFB is pushing hard to get all members of these two committees to
cosponsor the bill, so let's do our part to make this happen.

With regard to our other Senator, Bob Menendez, he is on the Foreign
Relations Committee and is already a cosponsor, so if you have not done so,
please call him at (202) 224-4744 and thank him for his support on this.

Thanks and take care,

   Ryan
