[NFBNJ] Update on Joseph Ruffalo’s surgery

Greetings all,

We wanted to share this update with our NFB and NFBNJ family. Thanks to all
that prayed and kept Joe in their hearts as it truly made a difference.

His outlook going into surgery was trepidatious but made a bit gentler by
your words of comfort.

He began his long day at 7:45 AM when he went under and it took until about
4:30 PM to have the cancer removed as it was located in a delicate area.

After, the reconstruction process began and finished at 9 PM; he was under
for over 13 hours.The miracle was that he retained an area that we thought
he would lose. Your prayers worked!

Step two Is his surgical recovery for the next 7 to 10 days. He will
continue to remain still for another 2 weeks, followed by rehab.

Your kind words, comforting wishes and just plain love for my brother made
a difference to him and our family.

He has much more to do and, after this recovery and rehab he will be ready
for this part of his journey!
