Although traveling can be challenging for a person who is blind, deaf-blind
or visually impaired, especially if you are traveling on your own, you
should not let that hold you back if you want to discover and explore new
places. Sightseeing is not reserved exclusively for those with good
eyesight. There are many more ways to ‘see’ a landscape, a historic
building, a plate of food in a restaurant, than with just your eyes. Your
freedom, independence and spirit for adventure doesn’t have to be hindered
by visual impairment. Join us to hear from a panel who will share
information on exploring locally, worldwide or virtually on your own terms
with confidence.

The following panelists will share their knowledge, experiences and
resources:

*Charles “Pat” McKenna*, Assistant Director, CBVI

*Melody Goodspeed*, American Foundation for the Blind

*Justin Harford*, Mobility International USA

*Michael Benson*, Visual Experience Foundation

*Host: Krystle Allen*, CBVI Community Outreach Specialist

If you have any questions, or would like to suggest topics for future
Commission Connection Calls, please don’t hesitate to email:
Krystle.Allen at dhs.nj.gov or call: 973-943-2209.

hand hovering over the letter "N" with the finger pointed to read; to the
right and directly under the Braille cells is NJCBVI in large, bold, blue
block letters under which in all caps is New Jersey Commission for the
Blind and Visually Impaired in gray letters.*
