Update on Accessible Voting Bill A4746 Action Still Required
On Thursday, February 16 leaders and members of the NFBNJ testified before
the Assembly State and Local Government Committee in favor of Accessible
Voting Bill A4746; click on the link below for bill details.

The bill was passed and is now set to be heard before the Appropriations
Committee on Thursday, February 23. If you have not submitted written
testimony in favor please consider submitting testimony by clicking on the

Affiliate Appointments
For medical and personal reasons Nina Green has resigned as Affiliate
Secretary. I know I speak for all of us when I wish her well and look
forward to her continued membership.
Mary Jo Partyka has accepted the appointment of Secretary and as per our
constitution Lia Stone is now our First Vice President and I have appointed
Clarke King as our Second Vice President. I have also appointed Ed Garcia,
South Jersey Shore Member and Leader to the vacant board seat. Congratulations
and thank you to Mary Jo, Lia, Clarke and Ed for your dedication,
leadership and continued commitment to the affiliate and organization.
2023 State Convention
I am pleased to announce our 47th State Convention will be held from
Thursday, November 9 through Sunday, November 12 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel,
2055 Lincoln Hwy, Edison NJ 08817, stay tuned for details.
Calendar Fundraiser
Our popular Calendar Fundraiser is back and will run from January through
July with the winner being announced on the last day of our 2023 National
Convention. How does it work, glad you asked that question.
Donate $10 to the NFB of NJ and select your favorite date on the calendar
or donate $25 and select three of your favorite dates. Only one person can
select a date, don’t hesitate or your date may be taken. There are 366 date
cards to choose from since we are including Feb 29 and you do not need to
be present to claim your prize of $500.
To choose your dates send a text message to our affiliate phone
908-590-1747 please include your name and desired dates. If the date is
available, it can be yours once your donation has been processed.
Donations can be made through PayPal or by mailing a check to our affiliate
treasurer Annemarie Cooke. an email to nfb.newjersey at gmail.com

and other accessible format communications for people who are blind,
low vision,
who have other vision disabilities or cognitive disabilities. I am looking
for others who have participated in New Jersey State programs and want to
share their stories about being granted accessible format communications or
