Dear NFBNJ Conventioneer:
Do you save odds and ends of mobility canes that have broken? Don’t throw
them away – bring them with you to our 47th Annual State Convention in
Edison Nov. 9-12. Also bring any working cane's you may no longer use or
like.
Kustom Canes, founded and operated by a blind entrepreneur, will use spare
parts to create new mobility canes for free distribution in countries where
obtaining such a cane is difficult or impossible.
It’s simple: when you stop at the Studio Room of the Crowne Plaza to pick
up your name badge and registration materials, you’ll find a collection box
designated for all those cane parts. Just deposit them there.
This collection has become a regular part of our state convention and helps
spread the gift of independent mobility outside the US. Kustom Canes,
located in Tennessee, has a website: kustomcanes.com
Click on the link below to view an audio video of the great work they do.
Thanks in advance for your help with this project.
