Greetings all,



I am thrilled to announce this year's 47th Annual State Convention National
Rep is Anil Lewis, Executive Director of Blindness Initiatives at NFB
headquarters in Baltimore, MD.



The National Representative is a leader of the National Federation of the
Blind who has been assigned to represent the President of the organization
at a Federation meeting or event. The representative is a trusted leader
who brings the message of the president, the priorities of the
organization, and who can give guidance to the local organization. In
matters of organizational business requiring a ruling from the national
organization, the national representative can take actions needed to
support the local organization.



The national representative essentially stands in place of the national
president whenever the President authorizes a person to do so.


In this post, he leads a dynamic team of individuals responsible for the
creation, development, implementation, and replication of innovative
projects and programs throughout our nationwide network of National
Federation of the Blind’s affiliates. These endeavors work to positively
affect the education, employment, and quality of life of all blind people.



I know I speak for all of us in offering him a warm and hardy Jersey “Hey,
how you doin?”



In addition to presenting the National Report to the general session and
the banquet address both on Saturday, November 11. Anil will participate in
our two pre-convention meetings on the affiliate Zoom platform. These are
scheduled for Tuesday, Oct 2 and again for our Convention Rookie Round-Up
set for Tuesday, Oct 30. Borth Zoom meetings are set for 7 p.m.
