Greetings, NFBNJ Members and Friends:

I am sharing an article from the New York Monitor, a news website, about
an innovative project by one of our newest members, Steven McCoy and his
SSP, Ste'fon Ikner.. Steven is deafblind from Usher's Syndrome and
describes himself as the world's first black, deafblind journalist. The
link to the article . The website for Spoken Heroes, Steven's organization,
describes it thusly:

nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals with
disabilities. Focused on adults 16 and up, we offer specialized training
programs that enhance communication and job readiness, leveraging
technology to facilitate learning. Our mission is to secure meaningful
employment opportunities through partnerships, advocating for an inclusive
