<P class=MsoNormal>Following a successful season of Para-track and field which
netted 19 podium placements at the Tri-State Games and 7 Gold Medals at the
National Championships, and after a well earned Summer vacation, the Fillies are
back in action on the Road Racing circuit. Improving and building up from our
experiences at the Bloomfield 5K and the Newark 10K earlier in the month our
team of runners and walkers took on their third race of the Season this
Saturday, the Diamond 5K in beautiful Buccleuch Park, New Brunswick.

<P class=MsoNormal>The Fabulous Fillies did a phenomenal job and we are proud to
recognize the following athletes: <o:p></o:p></P></DIV>

<P class=MsoNormal>• Team Captain, Jasmine Murrell, running against sighted
runners, averaged 7 minutes and 17 seconds per mile over a hilly 3.1 mile course
to win the Women's race by a huge margin. The race director and officials were
stupefied - never before had they ever witnessed a blind overall winner. At the
awards ceremony they graciously recognized her as the US national champion in
the 100, 200 and 400 meter sprints. Jasmine, we're proud of you! The team was
ecstatic, but the celebrations were just beginning.<o:p></o:p></P></DIV>

<P class=MsoNormal>• In the Youth division Aaron Whitten, Gabrielle King, and
Noor Musharraf made the Fillies prouder by winning their age categories. First
place medals for all.<o:p></o:p></P></DIV>

<P class=MsoNormal>• In the adult division siblings Kristin and Tom Panaro, and
Laura Etori each won their age categories to add to the medal
tally.<o:p></o:p></P></DIV>

<P class=MsoNormal>• In the Masters division Coach Donna Panaro, Coach Amo
Musharraf and Richard Whitten also placed first in their age categories with new
comer Siham Atshan securing a third place finish in her debut
race.<o:p></o:p></P></DIV>

<P class=MsoNormal>• To add to the glorious day many athletes set personal
records at the 5K distance. Kudos to Laurel King, Sherlock Washington, Amanda
Fadden, Andre Foster and Dimitry Belenitsky.<o:p></o:p></P></DIV>
