I am familiar with this mosque so I reached out to the president of the mosque to check. He wrote back and confirmed tomorrow’s service, and also said they will arrange seating for visitors. Generally Islamic funeral services are quiet, there is no eulogy, or viewing. Devotees perform a ritual prayer standing and bowing led by the prayer leader. Guests usually sit and observe. I inquired if there were any rules of conduct for visitors to follow and was told no shoes on carpeted areas, and to dress modestly. I am planning to be there early tomorrow. If you’re coming, feel free to text me on my cell if you have questions (732.527.2655). We will announce this to JKTC students shortly and offer them the opportunity to participate. As I looked into the gym today, there’s a picture of Amo that really represented him: he’s smiling looking into the camera while he’s on the floor in a pushup position. Each of his hands is resting on top of a few books stacked on the floor. The picture is attached. –Del

Forwarded by:

Brian A.
