<P>This week, Congress came together to pass an interim
emergency
funding package that delivers assistance in this time of crisis.
The
Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act
helps
small businesses pay their employees, provides critical support
to
health care providers and hospitals and establishes a framework
to
scale up COVID-19 testing nationwide. I helped to successfully
negotiate the inclusion of $75 billion for providers and
hospitals,
$25 billion for testing and surveillance, and a commitment from
the
Trump Administration to establish a national testing strategy.
</P>
<P>Testing is the one of the most important tools we have in our
fight against the coronavirus. This funding will be used to help
states and localities purchase and perform COVID-19 tests,
conduct
contact tracing, scale up laboratory capacity and support our
public
health workforce. We cannot reopen our economy until we have a
national testing strategy in place. </P>
<P>This bill also provides critical support to small businesses
that
desperately need help to weather the ongoing economic storm.
This
legislation strengthens the Paycheck Protection Program with
$310
billion in additional funding and expands small business support
with $60 billion for Small Business Association disaster lending
and
grants. <B>Paycheck Protection Program loan applications will be
accepted again starting Monday at 10:30 am. Contact your lending

<P>I also wrote to President Trump to request additional federal
funding to expand coronavirus testing, surveillance and contact
tracing in New Jersey. This Administration must prioritize
hotspots
like New Jersey and utilize mobile testing to expand testing
access.

<P><B><U>Local Announcements:</U></B></P>
<P>Governor Murphy announced an executive order that would allow
renters to use their security deposits to pay their rents. <A
href="https://palloneforms.house.gov/components/redirect/r.aspx?ID=1391-1336204"

<P>New Jersey-based Premium Nature donated 500 gallons of hand
sanitizer to the State of New Jersey. </P>

<P>The distribution of federal stimulus checks has begun and
will
occur automatically with no action required for most people.
Adults
with annual incomes up to $75,000 will receive $1200, plus
another
$500 per child. Some Americans earning more than $75,000 would
also
receive money if they meet certain qualifications. <A

your payment</A>. </P>
<P>Social Security beneficiaries who are not typically required
to
file tax returns will not need to do anything to receive a
payment.
Instead, payments will be automatically deposited into their
bank
accounts. </P>
