Minutes of the At Large Chapter


National Federation of the Blind of Oregon


 

October 7, 2013

 

*        The meeting was called to order by President Chris Morse at 7:04PM.

*        Those in attendance were: Robert Jaquiss, Vivian Smith, Chris
Morse, Larry Morse, John Brown, Carla McQuillan and Pat Latch.

*        Larry Morse moved that the minutes be approved as emailed. The
motion passed with one abstention.

*        Treasurers report, the current balance is $115. There were no
deposits or withdrawals. The report was accepted as read unanimously.

 


Old Business


1.     The lawsuit has been filed against the state of Oregon to enjoin the
state from enforcing HB2060. A later suit will be filed in the Oregon
Supreme court. The action was filed October 7 in U. S. District Court.

2.     Sees candy; The purchase price was $108 per box. The following
varieties were purchased: milk chocolate, dark chocolate, dark chocolate
with almonds and milk chocolate with toffee bits. The selling price is $2
per bar. This gives us a profit of $1.25 per bar.

3.     State convention; the state convention will be November 1-3. The
deadline is the 18th.

4.     There will be a face to face At Large chapter meeting Nov. 1 at
4:00PM. Other meetings were mentioned. Dinner at 6:00 AND AUCTION AT 7:00.
Various items were mentioned.


New Business


1.     John Brown spoke about the Options for Success to be held October 9.
John will distribute information.

2.     There was discussion about the founding of our affiliate. Carla said
that we  were incorporated in 1970.

3.     Our December meeting will be December 2nd at 07:00PM.

4.     There was discussion about various people and where they were.

5.     The meeting was adjourned at 07:30
