<b>Ski for Light is Alaska Bound, Applications Now Being Accepted

The 39th annual Ski for Light International week will be held in
Anchorage, Alaska from Sunday February 23 through Sunday March 2,
2014. Join over 200 active blind and sighted adults from across the
U.S. and around the world who pair up for what many have called the
experience of a lifetime.<br><br>
<br><br>
We will stay in downtown Anchorage at the
<a href="http://www3.hilton.com/en/hotels/alaska/hilton-anchorage-ANCAHHF/about/index.html">
Hilton Hotel and Conference Center</a> and ski at nearby
<a href="http://www.muni.org/departments/parks/pages/parkdistrictsw.aspx">
Kincaid Park</a>. The Hilton is a large full-service hotel right in the
heart of the city. Kincaid Park is a world-class facility that has
60 kilometers of wonderfully groomed cross-country trails. A highlight of
the week will be the ceremonial start of the Iditarod Sled Dog race on
the final Saturday of the week in downtown Anchorage. <br><br>
<br><br>
Ski for Light, Inc. is an all-volunteer non-profit that teaches the
basics of classic cross-country skiing to adults who are visually- or
mobility-impaired, while giving participants who have already learned the
basics of the sport the chance to improve their skills or to just have
fun skiing with their guide. This year’s event fee, including hotel
accommodations for seven days, all meals and other extras will be
$850. Applications are due during the month of November, and a
partial financial stipend may be requested when completing the
application. <br><br>
