Summer Picnic and Tour

August 22, 2015

10:30 am-3 pm

Join us for a tour of the historic Thompson's Mill in Shedd, Oregon! Following the tour we will gather for a bring-your-own picnic lunch on the grounds of the state park where the Mill is located.

What to do:

1. Make a reservation:

Transportation is provided in private vehicles for up to 15 people. Please RSVP to Kristen at kjocums at icloud.com<mailto:kjocums at icloud.com> or at 706-718-8055 to ensure a ride and to make any arrangements for guide dogs, wheelchairs, etc.

2. Bring your own picnic. Bring a lunch and drink for our after-tour group picnic. Two medium-sized coolers will be available for us to share. They will not accommodate large trays, so plan to bring a compact-sized lunch that will serve yourself and any children attending with you.

3. Look for more details next week. Once we have reservations in, we will contact you about final transportation, tour and picnic arrangements.

>From the website for the Mill:

Thompson's Mills is a unique survivor of times past, chronicling 150 years of Oregon rural life and honoring the owners who adapted the mill to the changing world around it. It is the oldest water-powered mill in the state and its turbines can be seen in action on guided tours. A water right that predates statehood produces the water flow that still runs the milling machines for demonstrations today.

There are no fees to visit. The main tour of the Mill is ADA compliant.
