I had absolutely forgotten about Andrea’s dues. I’ll collect $5 from you, Andrea, when we finally get to meet face to face. (If we remember) In the meantime, please do not send it to me, because it is a pain for each of us and not worth it for so small an amount of money.

All’s well, except that Kristen has really blown my scheme for buying votes next time I run for Mark Riccobono’s job!

OK, here is my official statement on dues:  Everyone should pay their own dues.  We have been very flexible in the past when someone has forgotten their money to make side arrangements to pay someone back.  We also thought the pandemic was going to last 2 months and that we could pay each other back quickly.  However, when the Chapter gets to be a larger group, we might not have such a collegial group keeping track of things.  I’m afraid that down the road there could be a claim of vote-buying.  So, I encourage everyone to pay their own dues from here on out.  If you need assistance with this, speak with an officer on how to get it done.  We can find accommodations for no computer access or whatever.  As for last year’s dues, Andrea, John paid for you and according to our records you were a member in 2020.  I’m not sure how the two of you worked out paying him back.  Finally, I just put a reminder in my calendar to remind everyone in December 2021 and Jan 2022 to pay dues before our Jan 2022 business meeting.  I have failed to make paying dues such a technical aspect of things in the past.  I will correct that going forward.

Andrea, I think “yes”, but I am not absolutely sure. Kristen should know the answer, but if not I’ll check with Kirk. For sure he knows everything.

Thanks for stepping up to take over as treasurer Andrea. It’s not a time-consuming task, but it is important of course. And I’m getting too old and decrepid to keep doing this. I see several people, not just in NFB, who don’t seem to realize that they are not doing a good job and should step down. I don’t want to get to that point. (Assuming I have not already reached that point of course!).
