All,

Thank you for volunteering to participate in the Fall 2021 Redbox kiosk testing. If you haven’t yet sent me the name and contact information for your affiliate’s tester, please do so soon.

As a reminder, I’ve organized a Zoom training for Wednesday, September 29, from 8-8:30 p.m. Eastern (https://zoom.us/j/94283365454) and will record the session for anyone who cannot attend.

Sincerely,

Valerie

Hey All,

National is asking for people to test Red Box kiosks for accessibility. Could you please get a few members to test a few of the ones listed below?

There is going to be a training on it this evening at 5 our time. Sorry for the late notice on that, but my NFB email wasn’t working, so I didn’t get the email that went out on Monday until this morning. I will send that info next.

Who would have thought in these days of In Home movie services!

Corvallis, Springfield, Eugene, McMinnville, Portland, Gresham,Coos Bay. I don’t remember if Medford was on the list. We have a large chapter in Medford. I am only listing cities where members who would follow through are living.

Wonderful! There are many kiosk locations in Oregon: https://www.redbox.com/locations/oregon. Which city/cities would you like to target? I can pull up the street addresses for remediated kiosks for these target areas.

Dear Colleagues:

After a COVID-related hiatus, we are reestablishing our Redbox kiosk testing program, and your affiliate is invited to participate during this final testing window (October 1 through November 30, 2021). Our testing program is a critical part of the NFB-Redbox settlement agreement implementation. If you are interested in having your affiliate participate, I ask that by September 17 you send to Valerie Yingling at vyingling at nfb.org <mailto:vyingling at nfb.org> the name and contact information for one member who will serve as your affiliate’s tester. This tester will be expected to conduct the following tasks:

*	Assess three remediated Redbox kiosks for accessibility, including the ability to nonvisually browse, rent, pay for, retrieve, and return media. (Testers will need to bring with them a set of headphones and a credit or debit card to use for each rental and will incur a charge of $1.75 to $3.00 per rental.)
*	Complete an online report following each kiosk test. A copy of this report is attached for the purpose of identifying someone who can successfully perform the tests.

Soon, Valerie will forward to each of you a list of the currently remediated Redbox kiosks in your state so that you can select a tester who lives or works near the kiosks. Please note that Valerie will coordinate a training for the identified kiosk testers prior to October 1.

Affiliates that choose to participate in the Redbox Kiosk Testing Program and successfully complete their assigned kiosk tests and reports will receive a financial grant of $100 per kiosk at the conclusion of the testing period.

Please let Valerie Yingling know if you have questions about the Redbox Kiosk Testing Program. And as a reminder, please send to Valerie (vyingling at nfb.org <mailto:vyingling at nfb.org> ) the name and contact information of the affiliate member you assign to be the tester. If we do not hear from you by September 17, we will assume that you do not wish to have your affiliate participate in the kiosk testing program.

Regards,

Mark
