Hello chapter members,

I just got off of a zoom call with the city of Albany for the ADA improvements for the parks and recreation and citywide buildings.

I have recently got connected also with the person who is in charge of the parks department.

The city of Albany is wanting to make one of their parks, a sensory playground, which means they are going to be adding and upgrading the playground equipment to hopefully reach more children and or adults and to make it a more sensory playground.

If anybody is interested in input on what would make a good sensory playground that would include things for the visually impaired children of Albany or surrounding areas, please let me know. They will not have the panels available, but, we can chat about what would make a good experience for a blind or visually impaired child.

This project was originally going to be happening during the summer of 2023, but due to budgeting issues, it now will be put off until spring or summer of 2024, which means we have time for them to get our input.
