Natalie, I volunteered to help with volunteers but haven't done much yet. I do have one volunteer = Sally's daughter Hillary. I need to get my butt in gear and round up the rest. How many do we need? I'm guessing that four or five would be good.
I am sorry, I forgot what else I volunteered to do, but I have begun letting people know to "hold the date" and think I have a handful of people so far who will come.
I have a little more time for the next month than I have had in some time, so I need to get done what I can.
FYI we did make a candy order. Got here the next day. Impressive.

Hello all:
I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving! I'm continuing to work out details for securing the community center for our dark café event, but there are many other areas that need volunteers to take charge of. Ideally, we need two volunteers per area. Please email me back with the area or areas that you are interested in handling and we'll chat more about specifics. This is a huge undertaking, so if we aren't able to secure enough volunteers, we can maybe think about hosting a smaller fundraising event and revisit the dark café when enough people have the time and energy for it.
* Food: this would involve catering, plates, linens, all the moving parts that go along with serving the actual food for the event.
* Decorations: this would involve all the planning for decorations, items needed for activities etc.
* Sales and marketing: this would involve spreading the word, constructing flyers, and coordinating logistics of ticket sales
* Event details: this entails planning out the flow of the evening, including activities.
* Volunteers: coordinating how many volunteers we need for the event, and being a point person for them.
P.S. I'm excited to give an update on the results of our See's winter fundraiser at our next meeting on the 11th! If you haven't done so, put in those orders in the next couple days before the fundraiser closes!
