Hi All,

 

John and Carolyn awesomely got the certificates to me before they departed
for India on Saturday.  I have signed in my slot as Chapter Pres, now they
are awaiting your signatures and distribution.  If you are able to pick up
from me, I will be in town from now to Thurs at noon.  I then present at a
conference and meet my daughter for a few days.  So, I'll be able to work on
connecting with y'all after Wednesday the 15 if you can't get the
certificates from me before Thurs.

There will be an audio described tour of the Benton County Historical
Museum, led by staff members Terri Thomas and Anya Bal on Monday October 21,
at 1pm.  This  tour should last around 45 minutes and will be a great way to
fine out  what the museum has to offer.

 

If you have some thoughts on this, or are just interested to get an over all
audio described tour of the museum,  you are welcome to join us.  Please let
me know if you plan to attend, or have questions   Also, if you already have

We did say we were going to have an October Zoom meeting.  However, with
state convention ending just the day before our regular meeting date, are we
all good skipping the meeting set for 10/28?  Also, I saw an ad for a Murder
Mystery production sponsored by the Corvallis High School Theatre Club that
is happening several times in November.  Does anyone else think it would be
super fun to go to that as a Chapter?  We could, instead of doing a combined
November/December meeting on 12/2 like we planned, go to that and skip the
December Chapter meeting?

OK, the website for the CSD events is super hard to navigate.  Turns out the
murder mystery is in October while we are at convention.  The play that is
offered at CV is described as:

For seven years a certain boy wizard went to a certain Wizard School and
conquered evil. This, however, is not his story. This is the story of the
Puffs... who just happened to be there too. A tale for anyone who has never
been destined to save the world. The New York New York Times proclaims
PUFFS, "A FAST-PACED ROMP through the 'Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at
a Certain School of Magic and Magic.' For POTTERphiliacs who grew up
alongside Potter and are eager to revisit that world, 'PUFFS' exudes a
jovial, winking fondness for all things Harry!"

This clever and inventive play "never goes more than a minute without a
laugh" (Nerdist) giving you a new look at a familiar adventure from the
perspective of three potential heroes just trying to make it through a magic
school that proves to be very dangerous for children. Alongside them are the
Puffs, a group of well-meaning, loyal outsiders with a thing for badgers
"who are so lovable and relatable, you'll leave the theater wishing they
were in the stories all along" (Hollywood Life). Their "hilariously
heartfelt!" (Metro) and epic journey takes the classic story to new places
and reimagines what a boy wizard hero can be.

Running Time: 1 hour 45 minutes

 

I still think it would be fun to go.  I suggest I buy tickets online for
everyone because the website is hard to navigate and the last time I had to
get sighted assistance to complete the purchase.  There is not assigned
seating, but I don't want to risk that it will be sold out.

OK, the website for the CSD events is super hard to navigate.  Turns out the murder mystery is in October while we are at convention.  The play that is offered at CV is described as:
For seven years a certain boy wizard went to a certain Wizard School and conquered evil. This, however, is not his story. This is the story of the Puffs... who just happened to be there too. A tale for anyone who has never been destined to save the world. The New York New York Times proclaims PUFFS, ?A FAST-PACED ROMP through the ?Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic.? For POTTERphiliacs who grew up alongside Potter and are eager to revisit that world, ?PUFFS? exudes a jovial, winking fondness for all things Harry!?
This clever and inventive play ?never goes more than a minute without a laugh? (Nerdist) giving you a new look at a familiar adventure from the perspective of three potential heroes just trying to make it through a magic school that proves to be very dangerous for children. Alongside them are the Puffs, a group of well-meaning, loyal outsiders with a thing for badgers ?who are so lovable and relatable, you?ll leave the theater wishing they were in the stories all along? (Hollywood Life). Their ?hilariously heartfelt!? (Metro) and epic journey takes the classic story to new places and reimagines what a boy wizard hero can be.
Running Time: 1 hour 45 minutes

I still think it would be fun to go.  I suggest I buy tickets online for everyone because the website is hard to navigate and the last time I had to get sighted assistance to complete the purchase.  There is not assigned seating, but I don?t want to risk that it will be sold out.

I was taking a look at the calendar we had developed earlier in the year.  We did say we were going to have an October Zoom meeting.  However, with state convention ending just the day before our regular meeting date, are we all good skipping the meeting set for 10/28?  Also, I saw an ad for a Murder Mystery production sponsored by the Corvallis High School Theatre Club that is happening several times in November.  Does anyone else think it would be super fun to go to that as a Chapter?  We could, instead of doing a combined November/December meeting on 12/2 like we planned, go to that and skip the December Chapter meeting?

Alongside them are the Puffs, a group of well-meaning, loyal outsiders with a thing for badgers ?who are so lovable and relatable, you?ll leave the theater wishing they were in the stories all along? (Hollywood Life). Their ?hilariously heartfelt!? (Metro) and epic journey takes the classic story to new places and reimagines what a boy wizard hero can be.

Running Time: 1 hour 45 minutes



I still think it would be fun to go.  I suggest I buy tickets online for everyone because the website is hard to navigate and the last time I had to get sighted assistance to complete the purchase.  There is not assigned seating, but I don?t want to risk that it will be sold out.

OK, the website for the CSD events is super hard to navigate.  Turns out the murder mystery is in October while we are at convention.  The play that is offered at CV is described as:

For seven years a certain boy wizard went to a certain Wizard School and conquered evil. This, however, is not his story. This is the story of the Puffs... who just happened to be there too. A tale for anyone who has never been destined to save the world.
