Advance the Nation's Blind

"The organized blind movement will not stand idle while the Department of
Justice undermines the very regulation we fought so hard to achieve. Blind
Americans deserve timely access to government services." - President Mark
Riccobono shared after the US Department of Justice (DOJ) issued an interim
final rule last week on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title II
web accessibility rule that delays accessibility requirements and
enforcement for state and local government websites and mobile applications.
Again.

The National Federation of the Blind is outraged by the DOJ's decision and
are working to challenge this delay, and your personal story will make a
difference.

For more details, read the full press release
<https://nfb.org/civicrm/mailing/url?u=42913&qid=12564096> that includes
additional resources and President Riccobono's remarks on social media that
we recommend members to continue sharing.

Answers to Your Questions

Question: How can I be a good Federationist?

Answer: There's no one right way to be a Federationist. Please stay actively
engaged in the movement to advance the lives of blind people, challenge
myths about blindness and our organization
<https://nfb.org/civicrm/mailing/url?u=42915&qid=12564096> , and support the
National Federation of the Blind's work to raise expectations and expand
opportunity so every blind person can live the life they want.

Read and share Dr. Kenneth Jernigan's 1993 National Convention speech,
<https://nfb.org/civicrm/mailing/url?u=42916&qid=12564096> Nature of
Independence which reflects our philosophy on blindness and independence.
