Hello,

Please read the following message carefully. I hope that many can give
public testimony to the SVRC. I am no longer on the committee but I strongly
believe that what consumers have to say about their DVR experiences is
vital. If you are aware of others who may not be on this list, please share
widely.

Share Your Experience

Working with DVR

with the State Vocational Rehabilitation Committee

The Governor of Alaska appointed State Vocational Rehabilitation Committee
(SVRC) members to provide oversight to the Division of Vocational
Rehabilitation (DVR) and help develop and evaluate their VR program. The
SVRC invites you to share your experience working with DVR by providing
public testimony. See instructions below.

The SVRC's next quarterly meeting is via teleconference and on November 2,
3, and 4, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. each day.

How to Share Your DVR Experience

You can share your DVR experience through the SVRC's public testimony in
three ways: By email, phone call, or letter. To be read at the upcoming
meeting, we must receive your testimony at least 1 day before the meeting.
Testimony received after this will be read at a future meeting. NOTE: Public

testimony is not private. To be included, you must give your permission for
your testimony to be read aloud at a SVRC public meeting.

1. Send an email with your testimony to dol.svrc at Alaska.gov
<mailto:dol.svrc at Alaska.gov> or a fax to Jason Caputo at 907465-2856. Your
email should include your permission to read it aloud at the public meeting.

2. Call in to the meeting on November 2, 2021. To do so, contact Jason
Caputo at or 465-6933 by November 1, to get the phone number and code. Then,
on November 2, between 1:30 and 2:00 p.m., call the number. When prompted,
enter the code to join the meeting.

You may hear the meeting in session when you call. We will check the phone
line periodically and will put your name on a list if there are other people
before you giving testimony.

3. Write a letter with your testimony and include your permission to read it
aloud at the public meeting. Mail your testimony with enough time to reach
our office by 5:00 p.m., November 1, 2021 and address it to:

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.
