* Be sure to set aside the second Saturday at 1:00 PM in March for
our NFB All State meeting. The link will be sent a few days before the
meeting.

* If you are a student in college or graduating from high school and
planning on college, now is the time to apply for the NFB scholarship
program from the NFB with $8,000 being given to thirty applicants. The
deadline is March 31 but don't wait to the last week. The essay takes a
little time to write, and you must have an interview with me, the affiliate
president. I am required to write a recommendation letter and I need time to
compile my thoughts to write the best letter.

* Also, and especially important, our Alaska affiliate is providing
two $500 scholarships to two lucky graduating seniors or current college
students. We hope you will apply because we want to make sure that Alaskans
have opportunities within Alaska. This application is due on April 30.

* If you are interested in participating in a twice-a-week, yoga
class with an excellent instructor, please contact me, contact info below.

* If you or someone you know is interested in participating in a
spring break youth program to increase job seeking skills, please notify
Tony Gebhard at tgebhard at alaskabvi.org <mailto:tgebhard at alaskabvi.org> .
Participants must be between 14 and 18 or be DVR clients.

* Finally, what has research shown about stress that allows people
to manage substantial amounts of stress more successfully? Either write or
call if you are interested in learning the answer. My contact info is below.

Stay in touch and we hope to see you at a meeting in the future.

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.
