Hello Convention Attendees,

Our convention begins in less than two weeks. If you have not registered, I
highly encourage you to do so. We have a deadline with the hotel, and though
they may take a few late registrants, we want to be sure that as many are
registered as possible. On Saturday, we will be having two meals and each
person will need to pick their entrée for each meal. You may send an email
with your choices to lucas.bonnie at gmail.com <mailto:lucas.bonnie at gmail.com>

For lunch: .

1.	Fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and spinach with a savory red pepper
aioli in a spinach tortilla (with fries)
2.	Chicken Caesar Wrap Tossed with romaine lettuce, tomatoes, Parmesan
cheese, Caesar dressing and wrapped in a spinach tortilla

Dinner:

1.	Chicken Piccata. Pan-fried chicken breast sautéed with butter cream,
lemon, capers, garlic, and white wine cream sauce
2.	Pasta Primavera. Fresh veggies and herbs in a light garlic basil
sauce served over penne pasta and sprinkled with parmesan cheese
3.	Desserts to choose from: Berry Crisp and Chocolate Cheesecake.

I realize it is a pain to have to make these choices before hand but we need
to allow the hotel the time needed to secure the ingredients for our various
choices. It was important to have a vegetarian and nonvegetarian choice
simply for variety and I feel these choices definitely give folks some
options. It is less expensive to have plated foods than to have a baffet
that serves a variety of things simply because more food needs to be made
for a buffet. Thanks for your help with this.

Also, in my last email, I commented that we needed to make money to support
“the Mother Ship.” I later realized that what I should have said and what I
truly believe is that when we choose to support the NFB, no matter the size
of our donation, we are supporting a true movement, that to improve the
lives of the blind throughout America. If you have ever received a free
white cane, attended a convention, learned of a legislative endeavor,
participated in sharing your voting experience, used an accessible voting
machine, or received accessible Covid tests, know that the National
Federation of the blind has had an essential role in making these important
things happen.

I encourage you to come to our convention, whether you are a member or not,
and learn about the impact this movement has had on improving the lives of
blind and low vision Americans.

If you are planning on staying at the hotel for one or two nights, please
call and reserve your room. Again, we want to make sure that people who want
to stay have received our special rate and are signed up before the
convention. The rate is $109 per night with 15 percent taxes. There is no
contental breakfast but there is a restaurant.

Last but truly not least, we are still looking for door prizes. If you have
any questions about something you may have or be aware of to be used for a
door prize, don’t hesitate to email lucas.bonnie at gmail.com
<mailto:lucas.bonnie at gmail.com> .

Final note
The convention agenda has Zoom links to each speaker. If you
simply cannot join us, please listen in when you can. The link is actually
the same but we wanted to make sure that everyone could click on it easily
if they chose something in particular to listen to.

Thanks for your support!

Bonnie

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.
