Good afternoon, everyone,
Each year on October 15, the National Federation of the Blind proudly
celebrates White Cane Awareness Day. This day is dedicated to recognizing
the importance of the white cane in the lives of blind individuals. More
than just a mobility tool, the white cane represents independence, freedom,
and equal access to the world around us.
To honor this meaningful day, the NFB of Alaska is excited to invite you to
our White Cane Walk. come celebrate with us Saturday October 18th at 12:30pm
as we gather together at the transit center downtown at 618 H Street and
begin an empowered walk to the fifth Avenue mall. There we will continue our
inclusive and meaningful stride as we bring awareness to our community.
After we loop around the mall, a couple of times feel free to join us in
having lunch at Alaskan Burger and Brew just a few minutes from the mall.
Please note that you will pay for your individual meal. Remember to dress
appropriately for our four-block walk in mid-October.
If you have any questions please contact
