[Nfbofnc] a neat thing happened at the state democratic Women's Convention

Greetings All:

This past weekend the North Carolina Democratic Women held their convention. Someone tried to get our group to pass a resolution in favor of consolidating the three agencies: Services for the Blind, Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and Vocational Rehabilitation. Now it just so happened that my friend, Pat who is a former lobbyist in Washington D.C and who wrote our petition for us, attended the convention. She stood up an explained to the entire group why this merger was a very bad idea. The resolution was soundly defeated with no one voting for it. 

Don't ever let anyone tell you that blind people have no influence.
