I am so sorry to hear of the death of one of the key leaders of the NFB of
NC during my time in leadership in the NC Affiliate.

I have so many good memories of Boyce.

I know that we all will miss him!

Obituary
Mr. Boyce Locklear, 63, of 10150 Rennert Rd., Shannon, NC, was born April
27, 1957 and departed this life on Monday, August 17, 2020 surrounded by
his family at home. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Ms.
Alani N. Locklear.
Mr. Locklear is survived by his wife of 38 years, Mrs. Marguerite Jones
Locklear of the home; two sons, Joshua Locklear (Lakeisha) of Rockfish; and
Julius Locklear of the home; two daughters Adrenna Locklear, and Jensine
Locklear Waddy (Marlon) both of Grays Creek; his parents Royce "Boots"
Locklear and Mary Lois Locklear of Rennert; one brother Michael Locklear
(Wanda) of Rennert; and one sister Lorie Brayboy (Ric) of Grays Creek; four
grandchildren, Isaiah Jarrett, Kyla Jarett, Leilani Locklear, and Jasiah
Locklear; and a host of relatives and friends.
Mr. Locklear worked at Robeson County Public Utilities for 38 years, where
he developed relationships with co-workers who felt like family. He was a
devoted missionary for 31 years, serving families in The Philippines, North
Dakota, South Dakota, and Oklahoma. He also spent several years in prison
ministry and serving on the board of the National Federation of the Blind.
