Subject: FW: GPSIOS Class
Have you ever wondered where you are when walking down a street, riding with
someone in a car, taking a cab, on a bus or any other form of transportation
while using an iPhone? If the answer is yes, well then here's your
opportunity to learn about different GPS apps a blind person can use for
travel with Voice Over.
On Saturday, April 19, 2014, the Computer Science & Technology Division
(CSTD) will have a class on GPS apps from 10:00 to 3:00 at the Federation
Center of the Blind at 119 S Kilbourne in Columbia, SC. Thomas Spittle will
lead this class, weather permitting, we will walk to a location for lunch
and each person is responsible for their own meal.
Contact Steve Cook at cookcafe at sc.rr.com or (803) 254-0222 to register for
the class. If you attempt to contact Steve by phone, be sure to leave a
message if you do not reach him. The price for the class is $5 if you
preregister or $10 the day of the event. Your name must be on the
preregistration list in order to receive the discounted price.
Preregistration closes on Friday, April 18, 2014.
Instructors for all events the CSTD holds are volunteers and do not receive
any of the funds raised for their service. The funds go toward maintaining
the assistive technology in the computer lab at the Federation Center of the
Blind. We appreciate your support!
Steve Cook
President of the Computer Science & Technology Division of the NFB of SC
