Seminars at Hadley Presents: Get Ready, Set, Study!

Have you been out of school a while and are a bit “rusty” on study skills? Or, maybe you’re in school, and some tips would help you study more effectively! 

Join Seminars at Hadley as we discuss all things study skills. Hadley’s High School Coordinator Karen Woodfork, instructor Julie Kay and successful students will share information and tips on the importance of goal setting, strategies and tips for putting education goals into action, how to prepare to submit assignments and more. Join us for this informative, yet fun, session!

Dawn Turco, Hadley’s senior vice president, will moderate this 60-minute seminar. A question and answer session will be included as part of the seminar.

Seminars at Hadley Presents: Audiobooks, Apps and Assistance: A Library of Possibilities from the National Library Service

Do you love books but find it difficult to read print? Do you wish you could listen to stories while doing dishes, waiting for the bus or just relaxing at the end of the day? Did you know that over 30,000 popular books, and many newspapers and magazines, are available on audio cartridge and for free download to people who are unable to read or use regular print?

Join Seminars at Hadley as Chief Librarian of the Andrew Heiskell Braille and Talking Book Library Caroline Ashby and the library’s Assistive Technology Coordinator Chancey Fleet discuss the easy-to-use technology that will make your life more enjoyable. They will also cover resources for accessible reading material, including Bookshare, NFB-Newsline and podcasts - free audio programs available on your computer, smartphone or tablet.

This 60-minute seminar will be moderated by Tom McCarville, director of the Low Vision Focus @ Hadley. A question and answer session will be included as part of the seminar.

Enjoying Birdsongs Now Open for Enrollment

This course guides students through the many birdsongs presented in Hadley student John Neville's audio CD set Beginner's Guide to Bird Songs of North America. This course helps students become able to appreciate nature and birdsongs, as well as reflect on their experiences with birdsongs.
