World Glaucoma Week

Did you know that March 9-15 is World Glaucoma Week? In an effort to expand global awareness of glaucoma as a silent disease, the World Glaucoma Association and World Glaucoma Patient have united with a “Beat Invisible Glaucoma” (BIG) theme for the sixth annual week. Both organizations are planning awareness-raising events. Glaucoma is the second most common cause of blindness worldwide. It is estimated that 4.5 million persons globally are blind due to glaucoma and that this number will rise to 11.2 million by 2020.
