Seminars at Hadley Presents: Twitter for Screen Reader Users

Are you new to social media? Maybe you're just new to Twitter. This seminar is intended for the beginning Twitter user, or those interested in joining Twitter who utilize a screen reader. We will discuss the basics of creating an account and basics of tweeting. What about those hashtags? Participants will learn the basics for doing all of these tasks with a screen reader.

Join Seminars at Hadley as Hadley instructor Ian Shadrick, M.A., M.A., CVRT, CRC, vision rehabilitation counselor and access technology specialist, as he shares his insights of using Twitter effectively as a screen reader user.

CVRT Week: April 12-18
Next week, April 12-18 is CVRT (certified vision rehabilitation therapist) Week, which recognizes, honors and celebrates the important comprehensive work of vision rehabilitation therapists around the world. A CVRT is a vital part of the vision rehabilitation team.  Ever wonder what exactly a CVRT does? CVRTs  instruct persons with vision impairments in the use of compensatory skills and assistive technology that will enable them to live safe, productive and interdependent lives. Vision rehabilitation therapists work in areas that enhance vocational opportunities, independent living and the educational development of persons with vision loss, and may include working in center based or itinerant settings. CVRTs help their clients with everything from cooking skills to accessible technology to modifications on the job and more! There are several CVRTs on the Hadley staff. If there's a special CVRT in your life, be sure to thank them for their hard work this week!
