might and Carey Burriss of the Anderson Chapter was the lucky winner!
Transportation will be made to the convention on Friday and back home after
the convention ends on Sunday afternoon. If you are seeking convention
transportation assistance, contact Tiffiny Mitchell at 629-5915.

Convention pre-registration after Friday, August 14 will be

Houck so that chapter and individual credit can be made. David Houck has
more tickets if you need them. See you at Rocky Bottom on Fun Day!

BINGO ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 27

COLUMBIA CHAPTER MEETING

AUGUST 13

President Tiffiny Mitchell gaveled the meeting to order at
6:30 p.m. Ike Nelson and his kitchen crew served up a delicious pork chop
dinner. David Houck gave the devotional on Proverbs 3:5-6. He also gave
the Center Report emphasizing Rocky Bottom Fun Day, selling Fun Day tickets
and getting items for the yard sale and auction as well as the NFB of SC
state convention next weekend.

Our special guest speaker introduced by Donald Capps was Judi
Gaston of WIS TV 10 who recounted how she got into the TV business and
talked about the Charleston shooting tragedy. As already mentioned above,
the Marriott ticket winner was Carey Burris of Anderson. Funds raised in
ticket sales came to $830. The offering collection was added to a $250 gift
from the Columbia Chapter to the Federation Center for an emergency crisis
and totaled $662 including other chapter member's gifts. Great work chapter
members! $277 was collected in money for the dinner and the 50-50 drawing
netted $40 for the chapter and $40 for Dorothy Barksdale who was the winner
of the drawing. All in all it was a great meeting and now we look forward
to the state convention at the Marriott August 21-23. See you there!
