2016 ORLANDO CHARTER BUS TICKETS

At the October 15 chapter meeting the 2016 Orlando NFB
National Convention bus tickets were distributed to assist in getting
members to the July convention next year. These $1 bus tickets are
available from David Houck at the Federation Center and money from ticket
sales and filled out ticket stubs should be turned in to David Houck. The
drawing will be held at the Statewide Seminar on January 9, 2016 and the
seller and buyer of that ticket drawn will each receive $300; or if you
bought your own ticket, you will receive $600! The NFB of SC chapter or
division selling the most tickets will receive $300 for their treasury. We
must get out there and sell as many tickets as possible in order to fund
the chartered bus and to win the $300 for the Columbia Chapter!

CHAPTER AND STATE DUES

It's not too early to begin turning in your chapter and state
dues of $15 for 2016 for the Columbia Chapter. Remember that we need to
have your name, address, phone number and email address if you have one.
These things do change and if we do not have updated information, we cannot
keep you up to date on what's going on. The deadline for dues is January
31, so why wait!

CENTER HOLIDAY CLOSING

The Federation Center will be closed for Christmas from
Thursday, December 24 through Monday, December 28 and on New Year's Day.

DECEMBER 10 COLUMBIA CHAPTER MEETING

President Tiffiny Mitchell gaveled the meeting to order at
6:30 p.m. Christmas music was provided by Ernest Gallman and the dinner was
provided by the membership. Several members set up for the meeting
including decorations. Our guests included Debra Canty, President of our
Sumter Chapter and three Sumter Chapter members as well as Tiffiny
Mitchell's mother and niece. Around 100 were in attendance.

NFB of SC President Frank Coppel spoke about the January 9 Statewide
Seminar, the auction to raise funds for the Federation Center and selling
charter bus tickets. He also talked about the July NFB convention in
Orlando. He stated he was proud of the accomplishments of President
Tiffiny Mitchell and the Columbia Chapter this year and that the new board
should do well in 2016.

The Columbia Chapter is going to the Greenville Chapter meeting on Saturday
and the van will leave at 1:00 p.m. Need a ride? Call Tiffiny. The
chapter was excited to learn of the state convention being held around
October 2016 in the Myrtle Beach area. Both Tiffiny Mitchell and Dorothy
Barksdale spoke about their experiences during last weekend's Christmas
Board Retreat at Rocky Bottom. Leanna Hall sang and gave an inspiring
devotional. Associate members were recognized for their service and gifts
were given out to many of them. Gifts were exchanged under the Christmas
tree. The winner of the 50-50 drawing for $46 was Joe Dunham. The drawing
for two raisin bread loaves went to Johnathan Nelson and Harriett Tucker and
several door prizes were also distributed.

Watch your mail concerning the January 9, 2016 Statewide
Seminar and details concerning the July 2016 Orlando NFB convention and
charter bus trip. See you at the Statewide Seminar and again at the January
15, 2016 Columbia Chapter meeting!

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Tiffiny Mitchell, President

Columbia Chapter, NFB of SC
